Agrilia is located southeast of Androusa, has an altitude of 41 meters and is about 14.5 kilometers from the coast of the Gulf of Messinia. The village has a long history that follows the history of Messinia and the wider region of both Messina in modern times and Androusa during the medieval period. The village has existed at least since the Venetian occupation and its oldest name was Aydini.

Apart from the traditional houses, there is also the village church, the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos. In the village there is also a monument to those who died in various battles and wars of the 20th century, as well as a bust of the infantry lieutenant colonel Georgios Bouloukos, who was killed, in January 1941, in one of the fierce battles in the straits of Kleisoura, during the Greek-Italian war.
